How to use this chart to test your visual acuity:

Lovingly hang the poster in a well-lit space, preferably one with either healthy plants or good music—or both. Be sure to hang it straight.

Now stand 20 feet away and focus on the symbols. Cover one of your eyes if it makes you happy.

Note the finely crafted symbols and the dynamic interplay between positive and negative spaces. Let your eyes linger on their articulated silhouettes. Now bring your attention to the reducibility of the one-color forms.

If you are unable to see the above, then best to keep at it! Your visual acuity should improve with practice.

Inspired by the iconic Snellen Chart used by optometrists, this poster features a small sampling of the symbols Mark has designed over the last thirty-eight years. Included are trademarks for Warner Bros. Records, Eveready Battery Co., PowerBar, Anson Mills, Elektra Records, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Touchstone Climbing, among others. Mark hand-inked nearly all of this work with a Rapidograph technical pen on vellum before rendering it digitally.

The poster comes in two flavors: “Original” (natural) and “Spicy” (warm red).
